[4] The termination came into effect on July 1, 2018 and Swedish universities and colleges do not have access to the 2100 electronic journals published by Elsevier. However, all articles published between January 1, 1995 and June 30, 2018 are still available. [5] Astrid Söderbergh Widding, President of Stockholm University, Chair of the Bibsam Consortium Steering Committee and leader of the negotiating team, said: ”Elsevier has signed a pilot agreement with BIBSAM on behalf of BIBSAM member institutions to provide Swedish researchers with access to additional reading and open access publications. This agreement helps authors affiliated with member institutions of Swedish institutions to publish their research in open access in Elsevier journals without having to pay an APC. The cost of publishing Open Access is covered by the terms of the agreement. The person who processes the manuscript and correspondence during the publication process – from the correction and proofreading of the manuscript to the revision and resubmission of the revised manuscripts until the acceptance of the manuscripts.

The author has the authority to act on behalf of all co-authors in all matters relating to the publication of the manuscript, including additional documents. The corresponding author is responsible for obtaining these agreements and informing the co-authors of the status of the manuscript throughout the submission, review and publication process. In addition, the corresponding author also acts as a contact person for all requests after the publication of the article. IOP Publishing (IOPP) has entered into a new open access agreement with the Swedish consortium Bibsam. No publication fees for corresponding authors from participating organizations when publishing in open access. Under the agreement, an amount for publication fees will be paid in advance. Wiley has different publication fees for different journals and so it is not possible to predict exactly how many publications will be funded by the agreement. Building on Emerald`s goal of reducing barriers to participation and access to publication, the agreement includes APCs and open access vouchers that can be used in all Emerald hybrid journals, gold open access journals and Emerald Open Research; the open peer review platform that supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
